Beck: Haunted By The Past

Stockholm's criminals had better watch out because top ‘tec Martin Beck (Peter Haber, far right) is back on the case.

The eighth series of the Swedish drama consists of four feature-length episodes. Beck himself is now slowing down, having returned to duty following a period of rehabilitation, so he operates in more of an advisory capacity – gone are the days of him chasing down baddies on the streets.

He's also been promoted to a new job as chief, so he relies on his trusty team members, Alexandra, Steinar, Oskar, Ayda and Jenny, to do the legwork for him.

But even though Beck is no longer out in the field, the pressures are still the same – bad people must be caught, and quickly.

The first case begins with the discovery of a well-known villain's corpse. The evidence suggests he was the victim of a conflict between drug-related gangs. ★★★★☆
