MUIRHEAD CLINCHES WORLD MIXED TITLE
CURLING: Eve Muirhead added the world mixed doubles title to her Olympic crown after claiming victory alongside Bobby Lammie in Geneva.
The Scotland pair (below) held off a late fightback by Switzerland to earn a 9-7 win, making
Muirhead the first woman to complete the full house of Olympic, world, European and mixed curling titles. Muirhead and
Lammie, an Olympic silver medallist in
Beijing, succeeded compatriots Bruce Mouat and Jennifer Dodds, who won the title in Aberdeen last year.
‘t’s been a phenomenal year,” said Muirhead, who led Team GB to Winter Olympics gold in February.
‘To cap it off, playing with Bobby was really special.
‘I’m absolutely delighted to get another gold medal and I’m sure we’ll enjoy the celebrations.’
