A&E patients left out in the cold

-

I would love to take the

Health Secretary Sajid Javid on a tour around my local hospital to show him what I have found.

I went to A&E where the wait was ten hours. Not only that, but when I arrived old people in wheelchairs were queuing in the car park to get in.

Even when they were lucky enough to get into the building, one old woman was so cold that I had to send my husband back to our car to give her two of our beach towels to try to keep her warm.

The staff were kind enough but the main problem with the NHS at the moment is that none of these overpaid managers ever stand back and wonder what they can do to make this better.

I ended up going to have surgery at a local private hospital instead and it was like a breath of fresh air. In addition to this saga, my family has had to try three GP practices over the past seven years before finding one that we consider satisfactory.

Sometimes I despair that people who have never held down a job in the real world are running our NHS.

Most of them have probably never even had a paper round.
