That’s a feather in her cap! Louise borrows her mum’s hat for Granny’s favourite horse show

- By Cormac Connelly-Smith

SHE may have inherited a love of carriage racing from her grandfather, Prince Philip, but it seems that Lady Louise Windsor is her mother’s daughter when it comes to fashion.

The elder child of Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex was seen at the Royal Windsor Horse Show yesterday wearing the exact same navy blue hat her mum wore at last year’s event.

Appropriately known as a Windsor, the fedora features a distinctive broach with a spray of colourful feathers attached to a rifle cartridge. The hats, which cost from £85 online, are hand-made by small family-run business Hayfield England. Its founder, former equestrian Hayley Pour, met the Wessexes and their daughter at last year’s event.

Lady Louise, 18, attended the third day of the show with her parents after displaying her carriage-driving skills on Friday. The Queen, in a rare public appearance, watched as she drove a carriage belonging to Prince Philip.
