The Magnificent Ambersons

It’s preceded by Citizen Kane (9pm), which is widely considered to be Orson Welles’ masterpiece, but the follow-up is also a classic – even if it was cut to ribbons by the studio. Joseph Cotten (above, with Agnes Moorehead) stars as a man out to win back his lost love, despite her son’s objections. ★★★★★
