A new eight-part run of Natalie Haynes Stands Up For The Classics (Radio 4, 4.30pm) begins by examining why ripe pomegranat­es and squashed grapes could be important to our understand­ing of Pompeii’s ruins. In his final show, Paul O’Grady (Radio 2, 5pm) plays songs by Tina Turner and Celine Dion and bids farewell to producer Malcolm Prince.
