ROMANIAN KNIFE BRUTE’S BAIL TRAIL

2007 – Accused of slashing a woman’s throat open with a broken bottle, Vasilescu escapes to the UK from his native Romania.

2011 – Pictured by Crimestoppers on most wanted list (left) of foreign criminals believed to be living in UK. 2011 – Traced to Manor Park in London. Vasilescu appears before Westminster Magistrates’ Court for extradition. Inexplicably, he is freed on bail – and instead of complying with an order to check in with police, he disappears. 2020 – Vasilescu resurfaces in Paisley after trying to murder his girlfriend. He is caught in the south of England, attempting to use the Channel Tunnel to reach France. 2020 – Despite being charged with attempted murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice by trying to flee the country, he is granted bail. 2022 – After his trial begins at the High Court in Paisley, Vasilescu goes on the run again. He is found guilty in his absence and a warrant is issued for his arrest.
