WIGHTMAN HAS EYES ON SUMMER TREBLE
JAKE WIGHTMAN claims he would rather run in today’s
800 metres final in the slow lane to give himself a chance of stunning summer treble.
The 28-year-old admits he is still on a learning curve in dropping down in distance from 1500m following the brilliant world title victory that was followed by Commonwealth bronze.
‘If it doesn’t end up being run that quick then so be it,’ said the Scot. ‘The main thing here is to try to get a medal. The ultimate would be if I could win European 800 after winning World 1500. That’s a great season, obviously.’
