3 die in party crash horror
AT LEAST three people died last night after a lorry ploughed into a street party in a Dutch village.
The incident, being probed by police, happened in Nieuw-Beijerland, near Rotterdam.
Officers said several victims had been taken to hospital.
A spokesman for the Rotterdam force said: ‘At some point a truck went off the road and crashed into the party.’
Pictures posted on social media showed a heavy goods lorry, believed to be from a Spanish transport company, at the bottom of a small hill.
The remains of wooden tables were seen strewn near the vehicle. Dutch media reported that a celebration was taking place in the village, which has a population of just over 4,000.
