Helen Mirren (above) deservedly won an Oscar for her masterful performance as Her Majesty in Stephen Frears’ drama set in the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death. It explores the monarch’s relationship with newly elected Prime Minister Tony Blair (Michael Sheen), who realises the royals have misjudged the mood of the nation. ★★★★★
