SAINTS PONDER MAY SWAP DEAL

ST JOHNSTONE are mulling over a potential swap deal that could see Stevie May leave for Dundee — with midfielders Jordan McGhee and Shaun Byrne moving in the other direction.

May, a hero of Saints’ 2014 Scottish Cup success, has failed to hit the same heights since returning to the club from Aberdeen in 2019. Although a part of the Perth club’s cup-double winning side of 20-21, the 29-year-old has scored just 14 league goals in the last three years.

Dundee boss Gary Bowyer has already told midfielder Byrne that he’s free to leave while the versatile McGhee, who can also play in defence, would give Callum Davidson extra options at Saints.
