You’d have to say ‘rather them than me’ as 14 brave stars take on the challenge of special training exercises under the supervision of hardened veterans for the fourth season of this show.

Among the volunteers is the oldest recruit so far, 61-year-old javelin thrower Fatima Whitbread (right). She’s joined by fellow Olympians, sprinter Dwain Chambers and taekwondo star Jade Jones, while the lineup also includes reality stars Pete Wicks and Ferne McCann from The Only Way Is Essex, Strictly dancer A.J .Pritchard, brother Curtis Pritchard from Love Island, actresses Maisie Smith and Jennifer Ellison and TV personality Calum Best.

The fun and games begin with an arduous crawl through the sand in 40-degree heat, before the novices are subjected to the trauma of an all too realistic simulated gas attack. ★★★★
