‘I WENT UP IN AIR’

-

STEPHEN Cameron broke his elbow after tripping on an orca which ‘blended into the road’.

The casino cashier, 61, of Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire, was crossing the road next to Glasgow’s St Enoch Square last year.

Mr Cameron said: ‘I went up in the air. I fell onto my left side and my elbow was shattered. The pain was severe. I was taken to hospital and required a cast.

‘They are clearly not safe for all road users and should be removed.’ Another victim spent two days in hospital after falling over an orca and breaking her right wrist last year.

The woman, who requested anonymity, is being represented by Thompsons Solicitors in a claim against Glasgow City Council.

She said: ‘I tripped over the orcas and ended up in the middle of the road, although thankfully nothing was coming. I knew my wrist was broken.

‘The orcas need removed, without a doubt. They are a danger.’
