Thought Mustique was a peaceful oasis? Look who’s heading there for his 50th!

AS ONE of the most infamous hellraisers in showbusiness, rock star Liam Gallagher might have been expected to head somewhere a little more lively to celebrate his 50th birthday.

But the former Oasis frontman is instead marking this week’s milestone on the breathtakingly beautiful – and peaceful – Caribbean island of Mustique.

He has splashed out about £30,000 on a villa and is taking at least ten pals with him on a private jet for his big day on Wednesday.

Friends say that his fiancee Debbie

Gwyther has helped organise the party, and they will be joined by his daughter Molly as well as sons Gene and Lennon.

However, his estranged brother Noel has not been invited.

One source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Liam has paid to take friends and family there for a big, week-long celebration.

‘He has hired a really flash private villa which has a private beach – he wanted to go somewhere where he wouldn’t have people taking pictures of him.

‘He keeps joking that what happens on Mustique stays on Mustique, so everyone going is expecting it to be a big one.

‘We were all a bit surprised when he said he was taking us to Mustique – it’s such a quiet place.’

Gallagher has invited Sir Mick Jagger to the celebrations, as he has a villa on the island, though the Rolling Stones frontman is not thought to be there at the time.

Mustique, a small, private island in the West Indies, was a regular holiday location for the late Princess Margaret, who built a villa called Les Jolies Eaux where she would regularly stay with famous friends. She once said that it ‘is the only place I can relax’.

In 2019, Boris and Carrie Johnson went there on holiday.
