Melina Matsoukas’ directorial debut is a searing crime drama which takes place during a first date from hell. Jodie Turner-Smith and Daniel Kaluuya (above) play a couple whose already dreadful evening takes a turn for the disastrous when they accidentally kill an overzealous cop, setting in motion a terrifying series of events. ★★★★★
