So, here’s another bugbear
Regarding the inane affectation of using the word ‘so’ at the beginning of any narrative, I am so irritated by this that any emails starting thus are deleted without being read.

The word ‘so’ is overused, but that is not as bad as hearing educated people referring to ‘being bought up’ or things ‘bought to the table’. Can we bring back the word ‘brought’, or fine everyone who makes that mistake £1 each time? That would clear the national debt.
