New channel set up to push SNP’s ‘obsession’
THE SNP is setting up a new broadcasting station to promote its arguments for independence.
Although the party yesterday announced at its conference that the channel will be called Scotland’s Voices, it was quickly dubbed ‘Natflix’ – in joking reference to the popular TV streaming service. Keith Brown the SNP’s Justice Secretary and deputy leader said its aim is to stream the views of ‘Yes’ voters across social media platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
The nationalists hope the station will win over voters who remain uncertain about independence. Critics said it revealed the party’s ‘skewed’ priorities at a time of economic turmoil.
Scottish Tory constitution spokesman Donald Cameron said: ‘The fact the SNP are celebrating the launch of a new broadcast channel to promote their independence obsession speaks volumes for how skewed their priorities really are.’
