VERY revealing moment that led TV Lorraine to shed the pounds

- By Sabrina Miller

LORRAINE Kelly has told of the moment she realised she had to go on a diet – when the top button pinged off her dress in the middle of a live TV interview.

The presenter giggled as the wardrobe malfunction left her briefly exposed while she was chatting to pop band The Wanted on her ITV show last November.

The blunder left them in stitches but the star said: ‘So sorry, my top button popped with excitement.’

Although the embarrassing incident was not too revealing, it gave the Glasgow-born broadcaster pause for thought and yesterday she said: ‘I knew then I needed to make a lifestyle change.’

She was in Glasgow meeting WeightWatchers (WW) members who have transformed their lives on an NHS programme, under which doctors refer obese patients for free WW classes. Lorraine, an ambassador for WW, said: ‘I joined WW in January and it changed my life.’

The daytime TV icon shed 17lbs and dropped two dress sizes from a size 14 to a size ten. She said: ‘Size 16 was a red line for me. If I started wearing size 16 clothes I knew it would spiral.’

The star emphasised the need for long-term lifestyle change rather than short-term quick fix diets. She said: ‘Being happy and healthy was the main thing.’
