Why can’t I get my WINTER booster?

WE’VE been told to prepare for the worst this winter. Covid infections and hospitalis­ations have started to soar and the incoming wave of flu is expected to strike early and be especially severe.

And while hospitals are already struggling to cope and have begun cancelling routine operations, health officials are pinning their hopes on a trusty weapon to save the NHS from the brink of disaster: the autumn booster.

A fourth dose of the Covid vaccine is being offered to 26million Britons (it’s the fifth jab for the over-75s). And this time it has been reformulat­ed to target the latest Covid variants. There’s just one catch: too few people are having it.
