Hobson’s Choice

Charles Laughton (above) was never better than in this classic comedy. He plays Lancashire bootmaker Henry Horatio Hobson, who keeps a tight rein on his daughters – until his eldest (Brenda de Banzie) marries his shy assistant (John Mills) and sets him up in his own rival firm.
