SHIRLEY PROVES SHE DOES LIKE WOMEN

- By Katie Hind

SHIRLEY Ballas last night put paid to trolls’ claims that she is ‘anti-women’ by praising Fleur East, the singer she said she would have sent home from the dance-off last week.

This time head judge Shirley gave Fleur, 34, nine out of ten for her Argentine Tango, despite saying she would have saved DJ Richie Anderson over her last Sunday.

Anderson was sent packing by the three other judges last week. But when asked who she would have voted out, Shirley, 62, opted for Fleur, to viewers’ and the audience’s surprise.

Liverpudlian Shirley, right, refused to quit in the week after trolls online called her ‘sexist’ and said she should go.

But after Fleur’s dance last night to Ciara’s Paint it Black, Shirley told her and pro partner Vito Coppola: ‘That is the way to come from a dance-off, it was sizzling, like a red-hot chilli pepper, it was effortless, it was controlled, had sensuality beyond beyond.

‘You play your own musical instrument, after seeing that today, you just play your own body beautifully.’

The pair went top of the leaderboard with 38 out of 40.

Shirley had also been accused of flirting with soap actor Will

Mellor, 46, after telling him he was ‘easy on the eye’. But last night she gave him five out of ten, his lowest score from her so far.

She also gave other female competitors high scores, awarding Paralympic swimmer

Ellie Simmons seven,

Kym Marsh eight and Jayde Adams and Molly Rainford nines.
