Monsieur Lenoir withdraws €8,000, then dumps the money in a bin before setting himself alight. Commander Raphaelle Coste (Lola Dewaere, right) is annoyed to be assigned to the case of an apparent suicide. But then she encounters the autistic archivist Astrid Nielsen (Sara Mortensen, far right), whose neuro-divergence helps her make connections others have missed. Astrid is charming – vulnerable but brilliant. A repository of arcane knowledge, she is also overwhelmed by social situations and has to draw flow-charts to prepare for a phone call. There’s a mystery per episode but the detectives are more interesting than the detection. A huge hit in France.
