Channel 5, 9pm, Monday & Tuesday, From Trainspotting to Happy Valley, Shirley Henderson (right) has carved out a career as a talented star with a distinctive screen persona.

In this four-part thriller (continuing at the same time on Tuesday night), she uses that watchable otherworldly quality to great effect in the lead role of Claudia, a woman who, after joining the search for a young local missing girl, almost immediately becomes obsessed with the unexplained disappearance.

This is a story in which it quickly becomes clear that almost no one will escape suspicion, including Claudia’s seemingly charming new friend, teacher George (Craig Parkinson), at the school where she works as a nurse.
