Who’ll help elderly with their ‘scaries’?

-

I read in The Mail on Sunday last week that the Department of Health is launching an online campaign to help with the ‘Sunday scaries’, which means the increased anxiety young people feel before work on Monday. I’m just wondering how much this exercise will cost, and do we really need it?

Surely in these difficult times these people should be glad they even have a job to go to. Scrolling the internet and checking their phones multiple times a day is probably causing their anxiety!

We are living in stressful times, but going online to learn how to deal with it is the last thing I would advise. I would suggest switching off your phone, unplugging your laptop, turning off the TV and going for a walk, somewhere quiet and green. Think of how much energy you would be saving as well.

I am 83 and I wonder when the Department of Health will start helping the older generation, who are scared every day for different reasons, not least because of technology that leaves many upset and confused, especially when they can’t speak to a real person or don’t understand the intricacies of online communication.
