1953. A sleazy American director hoping to helm the movie version of The Mousetrap is murdered at the West End theatre staging Agatha Christie’s whodunnit. Inspector Stoppard and the naive Constable Stalker (Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan, right) look into the death. The play’s cast, which includes Richard Attenborou­gh and his wife Sheila Sim (both in the original 1952 cast), are all suspects. It didn’t feel funny at the time, but 20 years later the demise of video rental chain Blockbuste­r is the subject of this ten-part nostalgic comedy. This sci-fi mystery show was cancelled by NBC after season three, but Netflix is bringing it back for a lengthy 20-episode final run. We might at last get the answers to what happened to Montego Flight 828, the plane flying from Jamaica to New York City that, in the very first episode, lands only for its passengers to discover that more than five years have passed while they were in the air. MY POLICEMAN AMAZON FILM

Harry Styles continues to flesh out his acting CV, starring in this drama exploring the realities of homosexual­ity in 1950s Britain, when it was still against the law. He plays Brighton PC Tom Burgess, who falls for museum curator Patrick Hazelwood (David Dawson). The Crown star Emma Corrin plays his wife Marion, with Linus Roache, Rupert Everett and Gina McKee as the trio later in life. From Friday
