Bukky Bakray (top right) became the youngest-ever recipient of Bafta’s Rising Star Award for her performance in director Sarah Gavron’s drama. She plays a London teenager who, after finding out that their mother has run away, does all she can to ensure that her younger brother (D’angelou Osei Kissiedu) stays out of care. ★★★★★
