In the final episode of the current series, two of the best-loved actors on British TV – Gavin & Stacey co-stars Larry Lamb and Alison Steadman (right) – delve into their families’ respective pasts and discover some startling secrets.

For Steadman there’s an extraordinary revelation when she learns that her father George Percy was adopted. Together with her friend Lamb, she travels to the Isle of Man to find out more about the relatives she’d never known about before.

Meanwhile, Lamb uncovers a starry connection – an ancestor who was one of the original legends of the silver screen in the silent era, a Canadian actress, Florence Lawrence, once celebrated across the world as The Biograph Girl. Plus, the ex-EastEnder also traces his Jewish roots in the Baltic state of Lithuania when it was part of the former Soviet Union.
