FINN RUSSELL claimed 23 points on domestic duty for Racing 92 yesterday, making a mockery of Gregor Townsend’s suggestion that he was out of form.

Russell was dropped from Townsend’s Autumn Series squad, with the Scotland head coach insisting his decision was based on ‘form and consistency’.

Speaking when his squad was announced, Townsend urged the playmaker to ‘respond positively’ to his omission.

The playmaker did just that yesterday as he inspired Racing to a 43-38 win away to Brive. Over to you, Gregor.
