Singer Aaron Carter dies at 34

TRIBUTES were being paid last night to American singer and rapper Aaron Carter who has died at the age of 34.

Carter, the brother of Backstreet Boys member Nick, opened for the US boy band on a number of tours and had a successful solo career.

A representa­tive of Carter’s team confirmed the news and said police were still trying to determine the cause of death.

In a statement, they said: ‘We are extremely saddened and shocked to confirm the passing of Aaron Carter today.

‘At the moment his cause of death is being investigat­ed. We ask that you give the family time. We cannot express the outpouring of love coming in.’

Los Angeles County Police Department confirmed that their officers attended Carter’s residence in Lancaster, California, on Saturday, responding to an emergency call, and found someone dead.

The singer released five albums during his career, selling millions to a mainly teenage audience.
