Celebrities pushing products must own up on ads

-

At long last the Advertising Standards Authority has told celebrities and influencers that all social media promotions must have a clear declaration stating they were paid to say/do what they promoted.

I would go further and suggest that all actors etc who promote products as if they were employees of organisations have a written declaration on screen stating how much they were paid to promote the product.

Gambling ads especially need to be controlled tightly when so many sporting ‘personalities’ seem to be on the make with the easy money available to push the things they promote. Jermaine Jenas and Robbie Savage are two prime examples. Ban them all or at least take away their commentating contracts.
