Who needs ID cards?

LABOUR has once again raised the prospect of introducing ID cards – this time to help control immigration. No need. We already have ID cards. In fact, you’re probably reading these words on one: smartphones. It has become virtually impossible to do anything without owning a smartphone, meaning we leave an easily identifiable virtual trace wherever we go. Who needs ID cards when Big Brother is in the palm of your hand?
