Peace on our roads? How naive
Thank you, Peter Hitchens, for bringing the subject about the incomprehensible volume of traffic on our roads and the appalling decline of UK driving standards to the fore. Even if I get on to the roads at 6.30am, I am guaranteed to be aggressively tailgated.
A. Turner, London
I fully endorse Peter’s implied distinction between cyclists going sensibly about their business and those possessed of a self-righteous moral smugness claiming the road for themselves. As for peace on our roads, well, that’s as naive as expecting peace in the world.
