ROBINSON RUINS RAITH’S RUN AS DOUBLE SENDS DUNDEE UP TABLE

- NEIL ROBERTSON

DUNDEE moved up to third place in the Championship table after ending Raith Rovers’ four-game unbeaten run.

Zach Robinson was the home hero with two second-half goals.

Dundee came close in the 23rd minute as Robinson battled with two defenders and managed to squeeze a shot off which hit a post before rolling along the line and cannoning off the other post.

However, the deadlock was finally broken in the 49th minute.

Dundee substitute Ben Williamson’s shot struck Scott Brown’s arm inside the box and referee Grant Irvine pointed to the spot. Robinson stepped up and slotted past Jamie MacDonald.

Six minutes later, an effort from Robinson was well saved by MacDonald but the striker fired the rebound high into the net.

Delighted Dundee boss Gary Bowyer beamed: ‘I thought it was our best performance of the season. Zach was terrific.’

Raith manager Ian Murray conceded: ‘I did feel that Dundee deserved to win the match.’
