TULSA KING

PARAMOUNT+ DRAMA

-

This is Sylvester Stallone’s first TV lead – and it’s great. New York mobster Dwight Manfredi (Stallone, below) expected a little more gratitude from his mafia bosses after 25 years in jail, during which he kept his mouth shut. Instead, on his release he’s exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and told to set up shop there. Realising his crime family might not have his best interests at heart, he wastes no time in recruiting his own crew. There’s a lot of dark comedy and impeccable credentials in the form of showrunner Terence Winter, a writer on The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire.
