NETFLIX COMEDY

Spook-tacular comedy series based on the 1960s TV series The Addams Family. This, from director Tim Burton, is a lot of fun, full of references to earlier incarnations of the show. Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega, right) attends regular school until the novel method she uses to punish the jocks bullying her brother gets her expelled. She is sent to Nevermore Academy, a ‘magical place’ for ‘outcasts, freaks, monsters’ once attended by her parents Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez (Luis Guzman). She has to share a room with a werewolf, Enid, and quickly finds herself involved in a murder investigation. Also stars Christina Ricci (a former Wednesday herself).
