I’m Matt’s celebrity girlfriend... get me a bikini like Myleene’s
Gina hits the beach in very Klassy swimwear... as Hancock is soaked to the skin AGAIN in gruelling Cyclone task
SIXTEEN years on and it’s still the most enduring image ever to have come out of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
And yesterday, Matt Hancock’s girlfriend Gina Coladangelo appeared to pay her own tribute to Myleene Klass’s memorable 2006 shower scene by donning a similar white bikini on a sun-kissed Australian beach.
But while the 45-year-old took in the rays in Surfers Paradise, her partner was having a more torrid time of it during the show’s notorious Celebrity Cyclone challenge.
Wearing a pair of bronze shorts, the former Health Secretary got soaked by water cannons and pelted with yoga balls as he struggled to bring back giant stars for his camp-mates.
All four surviving contestants had to adopt superhero alter-egos for the challenge. Hancock, 44, was the Bronze Bronco, England footballer Jill Scott, 35, was Purple Reign, former rugby player Mike Tindall, 44, was Quicksilver and Hollyoaks actor, 23, Owen Warner was Goldicocks.
Ms Coladangelo – whose office clinch with the then-married MP during lockdown led to the end of his Cabinet career – was joined on the beach by Scott’s fiancée Shelly Unitt, who applied sun lotion to her back, and Warner’s mum Polly.
The women made the trip after getting to know each other at the luxury Marriott hotel where friends and family of the celebrity contestants have been staying.
The stars will be reunited with their loved ones after tonight’s finale. Although Hancock entered the jungle amid a storm of controversy given his role in the Covid response, he has won over viewers, with thousands voting for him to stay in the programme ahead of the likes of Culture Club singer Boy George, DJ Chris Moyles and comedian Seann Walsh, all of whom have been evicted.
As Ms Coladangelo, 45, arrived in Brisbane last week, she told the Daily Mail: ‘It would be difficult not to be impressed, he has done really well. He’s made of tough stuff.’
