Khan’s ULEZ will clean us all out

LONDON Mayor Sadiq Khan has announced he is expanding his Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to the whole of the capital. At a time of soaring cost of living, many who use their vehicles for work will find they simply cannot afford to replace them.

That means they’ll either be unable to work, or will pass on the extra costs to equally hard-pressed customers. All in the name of ‘green’ progress, by which presumably Khan means the readies that will be stacking up at City Hall thanks to the extra charges and crippling fines that accompany them.

One can’t even rely on public transport as Khan’s union mates have, quite literally, put a stop to all that. Still, if Jeremy Corbyn succeeds him – as he is threatening to – we may look back on Khan’s tenure as a period of golden growth. God help us all.
