Carey Mulligan brings out £5,000 big gun in her exhausting beauty regime (and it’s just for parent-teachers evening!)

MOST mums aim to make a good impression on teachers at parents’ evenings – but Academy Awardnominated actress Carey Mulligan really pulls out all the stops.

The Maestro star uses a £5,000 top-of-the-range facial laser she bought when she was nominated for an Oscar three years ago.

Ms Mulligan, 38, took Vogue viewers through her beauty regime in a seven-minute video. She said it was for her ‘parent-teacher conference look’ rather than for anything special such as ‘going to the Met Ball’ and called it her ‘easy’ look.

It began with slathering on eye-cream (La Mer, £215), and Lancome moisturiser (£270). Then, Ms Mulligan – who has three children with her husband, Mumford & Sons singer Marcus Mumford – said: ‘I bring out the big guns. A couple of years ago, I got the Lyma Laser, which was basically my Oscars present to myself. It’s massive. It’s three lasers in one, and it’s the most amazing thing. It goes everywhere with me.’

After that, Ms Mulligan, who lives with her family in a £2million, 16th Century farmhouse in Devon, used more than a dozen more eye-wateringly expensive potions and unguents, bringing the cost of her ‘easy’ look to meet her children’s teachers near to £7,000.

Ms Mulligan was again nominated for a Best Actress Oscar this month for her role as Leonard Bernstein’s wife in Maestro. She said: ‘I’ve enjoyed a lot of my jobs that haven’t involved make-up because I think there is such an onus on beauty in our industry.’

Hailey Bieber use the Lyma Laser, as do leading dermatologists. It reaches deep into skin to boost collagen and elastin production.
