POLICE have warned youths they will be taking a ‘zero-tolerance’ approach to anti-social behaviour this weekend.
Officers have warned people planning to cause issues in Congleton they will have a larger police presence than usual.
The warning comes after incidents earlier this month where youths travelled to the town from Crewe – tearing up flower beds, spitting at people, throwing eggs and allegedly assaulting a girl on High Street.
Local youths were praised for tidying up after the incident.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Officers will have the power to stop and search anyone suspected of carrying a weapon and will be taking a zero tolerance approach to ASB.”
