£150K WINDFALL TO HELP STUDENTS

A CHARITY set up by businesswoman Denise Coates, above, has donated £150,000 to help students.

The bursaries available at Staffordshire University are intended to help nurture ‘local talent’ and are offered to those living within a 20-mile radius of the campuses. It is the fourth year such funding has been available to students from low-income families.

Denise said: “Hopefully these bursaries will reduce the financial burden enabling them to focus on their studies and reaching their full potential.”
