RUNNING WILD WITH BEAR GRYLLS: ROGER FEDERER ITV, 9pm

SHOUTY adventurer Bear Grylls is back, dragging yet another celebrity out into the wilderness for our viewing pleasure. Tennis champion Roger Federer is his latest victim – and probably one of the most nervous we’ve seen.

“I might look like a tough guy on the tennis courts but I’m actually quite scared of a lot of things in life,” he tells Bear.

Roger, 37, has won 20 grand slams and holds the accolade of ‘greatest tennis player of all time’ after remaining number one for nearly six years. But he’s well out of his comfort zone now.

Driving off into the Swiss mountains to meet Bear, he can feel his pulse racing and wonders where Bear is.

Bear, of course, is falling out of the sky. He does this a lot.

Then it’s in at the deep end as they must descend a frozen waterfall then use tennis rackets as snowshoes (nice touch) to cross an icy lake.

Roger, understandably, is a bit concerned for injury since he has a tournament in a week.

But gung-ho as ever, Bear pushes on through, offering up a snack of frozen fish eyeballs that “explode with blood and fluid”.

It’s not all sheer cliff faces and treacherous drops though.

Bear also challenges Roger to a ping pong match, revealing the legendary competitive side of Fedex.

There are also little camp fire moments when Bear, er, grills him on his personal life, revealing some intimate aspects of raising two sets of twins.

All in all, a grand slam adventure.
