THREE-YEAR BAN FOR DRINK-DRIVER
DRINK-DRIVER Daniel Sparkes has been handed a three-year driving ban.
The 27-year-old, above, was stopped by police on Dawlish Drive, Bentilee, for a routine check.
Prosecutor Emma Thompson told North Staffordshire Justice Centre: “The officer had cause to stop it for a routine check and it was clear he had been drinking.”
Sparkes, of Housefield Road, Bentilee, gave a reading of 45 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. He pleaded guilty to drinkdriving on November 10.
Tony Cooke, mitigating, said: “His previous convictions mean he will get a mandatory disqualification.”
Sparkes must pay a £266 fine, £135 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
