MADISON SUMMONS UP THE ‘TRUE SPIRIT’ OF CHRISTMAS!

-

AS a nine-year-old, Madison Hall-elliott’s focus at this time of year could quite easily be on what she is likely to be getting for Christmas.

It would be an entirely reasonable for a girl of Madison’s age to be just thinking about the presents she will be opening on Christmas morning.

And while, she will no doubt, enjoy the festive season with her family, as we report today, she is doing more than her bit for those less fortunate people during December.

The Sneyd Academy pupil has donated 40 bags of goodies to homeless people in the city after collecting food, clothing and treats.

She visited Fenton’s Temple Street Methodist Church with her mum to hand out bags containing hats, gloves, socks, crisps, water, toothbrushes, deodorant, tissues, mints, chocolate bars and biscuits.

She also handed donations over at Saltbox and Hanley’s All Saints Church.

The items were a response from mum Nicola Hall’s Facebook plea on behalf of her daughter.

Madison, right, had been moved to do something to help the plight of the homeless after a visit to London where she saw rough sleepers outside shops.

She bought them meals and vowed to do something for those in the same situation in her home city.

And that is not the end of it. With her dad on Christmas Eve, she will venture out to take hot food and drinks to people who will be homeless in Stoke-on-trent over the festive period.

Mum Nicola quite rightly talks of her pride in a daughter who has a ‘heart of gold.’

It’s an extraordinary display of compassion from a kind and caring youngster who has summoned up the true spirit of Christmas by showing ‘good will to all men and women.’ Truly heart warming. Well done Madison.
