TODAY’S Picture of the Day was taken by Russell Mander, from Newcastle. The 70-year-old Sentinel Snappersquad member said: “I cut some coloured card into strips, folded them over and stuck the ends to form a teardrop shape. I then placed them on top of each other on a black background and used a torch to light them. You can move the torch about until you get the look you’re after.”
