‘I STUCK MY PHONE OUT... IT WENT VIRAL’

WHEN Stokeon-trent musician Pete Carney saw the trouble at the Potteries derby, he put his phone through his window and hit ‘go live’.

The video of fans throwing smoke bombs at Vale Park has now been viewed over 125,000 times, and ended up with Pete in the national media and on the six o’clock news.

But the Hamil Roadbased musician, above, was hoping a different video would go viral as band Stepping Lane released their Christmas song just days earlier.

Bassist Pete said: “The band recently released our music video and we tried to go viral, but it didn’t. I then stuck my phone out the window and ended up in the national headlines.”

Stepping Lane’s ‘She Gave me a Sexual Disease’ has so far has just over 700 views on the band’s Facebook page.
