Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay refused to say whether the government has a ‘plan B’ if MPS vote against the draft withdrawal agreement on Tuesday,

Last week MPS voted for an amendment which requires ministers to put forward alternativ­e proposals within three days if Theresa May’s Brexit deal is rejected, as is widely expected.

But when he appeared on The Andrew Marr Show on Sunday, Mr Barclay would not say what a plan B would entail. He instead repeated the assertion that the only way to avoid no-deal, or no Brexit, would be for MPS to vote for Mrs May’s plan.
