PERVERT David Wilshaw downloaded more than 180 indecent images of children.

The 25-year-old was arrested after police forced their way into his Forsbrook home and seized two phones.

They were analysed and found to contain scores of indecent images of children, as young as three and seven, being raped. Wilshaw admitted that he gained sexual gratification from looking at the images.

Now Wilshaw has been handed a three year community order at Stoke-ontrent Crown Court. Prosecutor Richard Davenport said police forced their way inside the defendant’s home at 7.25am on March 5 last year.

Mr Davenport said: “The defendant was asleep in bed. Officers searched his bedroom and found two mobile phones. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.

“He made full admissions. He said he was lonely and got sexual gratification from looking at the images.

“The still images were of the rape of a three-year-old child.

“The video was of a seven-year-old girl being raped.”

There were 46 category A images – the most serious; 71 at category B; 43 category C images; and one video.

Wilshaw, of Dilhorne Road, Forsbrook, pleaded guilty to four offences of making indecent images of children.

Stuart Muldoon, mitigating, said the defendant is ashamed of his behaviour. He added: “He is adamant there will be no repeat of this offending.”

Judge David Fletcher said: “You started off looking at mainstream pornography. You accept how wrong your behaviour was.

“You need to understand they are not drawings. They are photos of real children somewhere in the world who are being vilely exploited. The only reason is because of people like you.

“You are, in part, responsible for the abuse they are being put through on a daily basis.”

Wilshaw was made the subject of a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and was placed on the sex offenders’ register for the same period.
