THE general manager of North Staffordshire’s first Marriott hotel has been appointed ahead of its opening in the coming months. Scott Randall will take up the role at the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel at Keele University, joining from Holiday Inn Derby Nottingham.

Scott will be responsible for establishing a 60-strong team ahead of the hotel opening on campus at Keele University’s Science and Innovation Park – which will include 150 rooms, a restaurant and bar, meeting rooms, and fitness suite.

He said: “My career in hospitality spans 30 years working for Concorde Hotels, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and more, including project managing three new hotel openings in Shrewsbury, Birmingham and Doncaster for the Real Hotel Company. “This opportunity to join the Tower Hotel Management team and to be a part of this new and modern Courtyard by Marriott hotel is really exciting.

“I look forward to welcoming our new recruits as soon as we can.”

WEALTH management firm Giliker Flynn has appointed Zoe Greenwood as an independent mortgage and protection advisor. Zoe – who joins the Newcastle business with more than two decades of experience in the industry – has previously worked for Lloyds Bank and New Homes Mortgages. In her new role, she will be responsible for helping clients with their mortgage and protection needs across the residential, investment and commercial property sectors. Company director Chris Flynn, above, said: “We are all delighted to have Zoe on board with us, she is exactly what we were looking for and really fits the Giliker Flynn mould.
