BRUNO DEPARTS POTTERS AFTER JOINING DUTCH SIDE ON LOAN

-

STOKE City defender Bruno Martins Indi has left the Potters to joing Dutch side AZ Alkmaar on loan.

The defender will spend the season at the Eredivisie club. A statement on the club’s website read: “Bruno Martins Indi has joined Dutch side AZ Alkmaar on loan.

“The 28-year-old defender will spend the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign with the Eredivisie outfit. “Martins Indi has made more than 130 appearances for the Potters after moving to the bet365 Stadium initially on loan in 2016.

“The club wishes Bruno every success during his loan in the Netherlands, for whom he has been capped 34 times.” Martins Indi has made five appearances for Stoke this season. He is under contract with Stoke until 2022. Meanwhile, former England keeper Paul Robinson believes Liverpool should move for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland. With Premier League sides still able to sign from the Championship, and with Alisson sidelined for around six weeks, Robinson believes the Stoke keeper could be the answer.

Liverpool were humiliated at Villa Park on Sunday, with stand-in keeper, Adrian, letting in seven goals against Aston Villa.

Robinson reckons the Stoke stopper could be the answer Klopp’s keeper crisis.

He told Football Insider : “If Alisson is going to be out for that length of time Liverpool are going to have to look at it. “While the domestic window is still open we may see Liverpool do some business. “I can see Liverpool signing the likes of Jack Butland on a short-term deal. They need somebody like that. A player that has the experience of handling big games.”
