Wild and Wild, in Congleton, launched ed its seasonal menu this month, which is entirely plantbased packed with bright vegan dishes.

The most popular order – due to its beautiful pink colour ur

The wholefood blackbean patty is smothered in a BBQ marinade with Wild and Wild house slaw, served on a locally sourced pink beetroot bun, with sweet potato wedges and a side salad – and costs just £10.

The bun is baked down the road in Leek by artisan bakery Holy Bread – a business which launched during lockdown.

April Wild, who co-owns the cafe wit with husband Chris, said: “We alwa always like to keep it s seasonal at Wild an and Wild, and a after lockdown we felt like we needed a fresh menu for a fresh sta start. We wanted it to be really seaso seasonal produce working with local suppliers.

“Holy Bread, which launched in lockdown in Leek, approached us about their vegan bread and now we use their pink beetroot buns in our rainbow burger. It inspired us to go even more wild with the menu.”

The health-conscious couple are passionate about healthy food, and getting people eating more fruit and vegetables.

April, aged 30, from Biddulph, added: “It’s always been so important for us to have a healthy menu. It still is feel good food but we want to educate people on eating more plant based foods to up people’s fruit and veg intake.

“Ninety per cent of our customers are meat eaters – we are able to show them they can still have their bacon bap, or their burger, but it’s cruelty free and tastes amazing.

“People love photogenic food, and love to take pictures of their meals in front of our wall mural. I think that’s why the burger has gone down so well!”
